DAY 10: A QUIET DAY

March 19, 2022 ~ Saturday

Fasting Update: Day 5 of the water fast. Yesterday, after the cooking demo, I met a woman who was at the center due to breast cancer. She does not want chemo and is trying this first. We walked around the court yard 5 times visiting. I should have said, can we sit and talk but I didn’t. My BP was taken just after I got to my room It was 168/78. The nurse and doctor were not concerned by it. Today, it is back down to 129/86. I lost another 1.6 pounds. My glucose is 57 which is low for a diabetic. Today, because of yesterday’s walk. They say, no, it is due to fasting. We shall see how I feel tomorrow. I am extremely tired, my muscles hurt, my back muscles do not want to sit at a computer. It is Saturday and nothing much happens at the center on Saturday so, I did manage to get dressed and make the bed. I have a throw blanket to use when the bed is made. I had my mug of hot water, which is comforting. Although, the smells from the kitchen are wafting into my room …..

The courtyard is pretty and there is a fountain you sit near, although I can hear it from my room too. There are lots of plants and flowers to look at at well. The patients seem to sit in the chairs in the heat of the day. I go out before or after the main group sits out there. I can sit on the planter and at least touch the soil. I have not done any weeding, yet. They have a gardener and I am on complete rest.

I do believe in a person “earthing” or grounding themselves, to an extent. In an electrical sense, touching the earth “grounds” you and electrons are exchanged. Most electrical installations in buildings in Vermont are grounded. That third plug on an outlet is connected to the grounding rod your electrician was supposed to install. “They” say skin contact with the earth can be therapeutic and have positive effects on your body. I think so or maybe I just like gardening.

Before you can fix a problem you need to be able to “name” it. I have been caught in the Pleasure Trap.
