DAY 11: DAY OF REST

March 20, 2022 ~ Sunday

Fasting Update: Day 6 of water fasting. I was so tired yesterday. Miserable in fact. I feel so much better today. Lesson learned. No need to walk around the court yard. Rest instead. It is amazing that such simple things can be a big deal while on a long term fast. And I mean little. Sometimes a walk to the bathroom makes my heart race. I am having balance issues. I am not dizzy or lightheaded. Just balance. I think my numb toes do not help with that. I have made some changes in how I care for myself. Like I sit down to put my pants on. I have been wearing slippers all the time. I think I will put on shoes and see if that helps the feet know where they are. When fasting, you are literally doing nothing, you do not get dirty or grungy. So, no more showers on Dr’s order. A sponge bath it is. No, really, you just do not need a shower, but I did tell Dr. I will be washing my hair once a week. For that I will kneel on the floor by the tub and use the long hand held shower head. Just like washing your hair in the kitchen sink.

Daily fasting numbers: Weight-195.7 Weight loss since adopting diet-39.3 BP-127/84 Heart rate-82 Oxygen level-99 Temperature-98 Glucose-66 … good so far!

Zoom lecture: “Reflexology for Digestive Health: Tools for Self Care”. I need to learn more self-care, self-compassion, and self-love. Reflexology is out there on the fringes of modern medicine. Well, really I am in a place far outside of modern medicine. In fact, modern medicine is not as smart as it thinks it is. Still, Reflexology is not a proven medical treatment but it is a complementary treatment. It can help stress and anxiety. I am not sleeping well; I will give this ‘thing’ a try. Why not? I have little else to do. One appointment it is. I will let you know how it goes.

I ended today by going out in the courtyard in the dark to see the stars. Not very impressive compared to the night sky I get at home.
