DAY 12: LECTURE

Fasting Update: Day 7 of water fast. I am not dizzy, lightheaded, out of breath, or in any kind of pain. I must move slowly so as to not throw myself off balance. Tonight I did a sponge bath as exhausting as that was. I decided to put some lotion on my face and a few minutes later regretted it. I did not realize how strong the scent was. Now they tell you when you come, no scented anything. And now I know why. I actually thought I grabbed the unscented Olay at the store. Nope. I had to wash it off. I have not had any scented things since getting here. My nose has been resting too and the smell was too strong. Another lesson learned. No scents. They call this neuroadaptation. My palate will experience the same thing. In my mind, I compare taste to radio noise. A high pitched sound is the highly concentrated highly tasty food most Americans eat. We are used to it and it gives us a pretty big dopamine hit and then we want more. A low pitched sound is the whole plant based diet. It is lower in flavor and better for us. You get a lower dopamine hit and eat less. Ever eat something really healthy offered to you? And you said who would eat this? You are not neuroadapted to be able to eat it. I need to experience this neuroadaptation so that I will enjoy my new lifestyle.

My liver number are elevated and they are being watched. This process will heal the liver, if the liver decides not to complain too much in the mean time. They will go by clinical symptoms. If I am not nauseous or having bowl issues (a body dump of bile) or my stomach upper right quadrant is not tender or painful, then I can continue fasting.
Lecture: Dr Goldhamer, himself. I have heard him talk dozens and dozens of time on YouTube. So most of what he said I have heard before only with better slides. His talk was called, “Life Expectancy vs a Healthy Life”. In this country we treat the leading cause of death rather that the actualcause of death. For example, if die due to diabetes that is the leading cause of death. The actual cause of death was my very poor diet. This is why medical costs are through the roof. There is more money in treating all these disease than in what actually causes them, which is our lifestyle. What if you treated the actual cause? Those causes are: tobacco; poor diet/physical inactivity; alcohol; microbial agent; motor vehicles; firearms; sexual behavior and illicit drug use. With tobacco killing the most and drug use the least. But notice that a poor diet lack of physical activity is the second actual cause of death. From just that one, you get heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and kidney diseases. These diseases are caused by dietary excess. Daniel of the Old Testament knew this. That is why he asked for pulse or vegetables because the king’s food was so rich and deadly.
Some will say cancer caused by diet? This is not from Goldhamer’s talk but from a question I asked. There are two running theories about where cancer comes from. The first and standardly held theory is that cancer is a nuclear genetic disease. The second, and this has been known since 1920, it is a mitochondrial metabolic disease. That is diet. I asked Goldhamer about this. He said there are a lot of modern cancer therapies that have been created and approved. So these become the standard and anything else is criminal quackery. The second theory has no drugs that can be approved so it has no protocols that are considered safe and therefore do not get approval. Really, how do you ‘approve’ diet as a treatment and second no one can make money off of prescribing a ‘diet’. So real treatments that actually work are pushed to the side in worship to the mighty dollar.
Another thing he pointed out is that there is a difference between ‘health food’ and ‘healthy food’. I have notice this at my local coop. There are a lot of organic and vegan processed foods in the store. This means they are concentrated food. It is best to stick to buying the bulk items and the produce. Hence why TrueNorth says NO proceed foods, even Vegan ones.
