DAY 5: DANIELLE-JUICE-MOVE

Today, Danielle leaves me at the Center all alone. I was glad she came with me. She saw where I was and met the doctor who is overseeing my care. She got to eat the food and experience some of services offered here. She did a chiropractic session as her neck was bothering her from the flights.

The Center provided her with food for the travel home. I am glad they did that as when I leave I was going to ask for that very thing. I flew to California with my own food so that I would not be tempted to eat whatever was in an airport. Beans, rice, cut up pineapple and oranges with a bit of chili spice on the beans. After all I am on a whole food, no salt, oil, or sugar diet. Try and find that in any restaurant. You won’t.

She was off and out by 7:30 am and then my first glass of juice came. They brought me 3 more throughout the day. I also drank water. That was it. Day one done.

I have to tell you their idea of a juice fast if not what I would call a juice fast. I think orange, pineapple, or apple juice. They juice greens and mix in an apple or other sweet fruit to make it drinkable. I found that if I cut is half and half with water the taste was not overwhelming. The bottom line: I was going to drink it no matter what. I would take the straw and drink half the glass before I had a chance to taste it!

I am going to have to learn to eat more greens and berries, especially the blue ones. My palate is suppose to be neuroadaptive and will see these foods as tasty. Celery is supposed to be very salty and tasty. We shall see, as I do not like celery now. Will I after my palate resets? An experiment in the making. That will be one of the first things I try to eat! Are they correct?

I also moved to my new room. Danielle and I were staying in one of the bigger rooms with a queen bed. My new room is small with a twin bed. It is the cheapest rooms they have. $169 a day. I have a wardrobe, a memory foam mattress and best of all, an ergonomic computer desk! I have a little heater, fasting patients get cold, and a ceiling fan and light, both pull string. No light switch! It is cozy and I like it. I did bring a couple of things to brighten up the totally white everything. Here is a picture of it.
