DAY 7: 10 STEP PROGRAM

March 16, 2022 ~ Wednesday

Before I talk about the 10 step program I will mention bowls. The first two days of this water fast I did indeed have a bowl movement. Nothing horrendous, nothing messy. Yeah, that about covers it. With all the water you drink urination is often and it is good to drink a minimum of 48 ounces a day. I drink at least 6 – 12 ounce glasses of water everyday and usually one more during the night.

Now …. The 10 Step Program by Dr. Goldhamer.

This is a lecture that Dr. Goldhamer gives onsite to those that can attend. Because of COVID I have to quarantine 5 days before I can attend the lectures in the dinning hall and must wear a mask when outside of my room. BUT I can watch the lectures which are live streamed. Very cool. I can record them and watch them later, if I want to. Can’t do that when you attend in person. At least I have not figured out a way yet.

It is a 5 day quarantine and Danielle and I violated it by going to church on Sunday so I had to start over. It ends tomorrow! So I can attend lectures and not wear a mask so much going forward.

Dr. Goldhamer and his wife founded the True North Health Center in 1984. It is not only to help people regain their health but to also do research on fasting and the whole plant diet and does it really do what they claim it does. I have listened, and you can too, listen to Dr. Goldhamer on YouTube. There are many videos of him and others talking about this lifestyle. Here are the components of the 10 steps he has seen of people who were successful at regaining health.

  1. Determine the Goals
  2. Identify the cause(s)
  3. Objectify the Problem
  4. Determine a Rational Approach
  5. Set Priorities
  6. Establish Timelines
  7. Give up Magic Thinking
  8. Initiate an Action Plan
  9. Assess Progress
  10. Maintain Success

EVRYTHING at TN is geared to help one be successful at this. This 10 step plan can be used in all areas of life. I recognize them as I have used these steps in one way or another to accomplish other life goals. Why, oh why, can’t I do this with my health? Do this for me? Until now, I struggled. Now I feel that I can indeed do this and maintain it. Here at the center they call it self-love (not selfishness) and self-compassion. I need to do this for ME and no one else.

Dr. Goldhamer has bullet points that goes with each step. And I am glad that I brought a blank new old looking journal with me. Journaling myself through these steps has been very good and helping me to change my mindset. I chose to not put that info in the blog as it gets more personal that this blog will be. The video below is one that was recorded of Goldhamer explaining the “Ten Most Important Actions for Achieving Health” which are similar”.

My blank, new, old looking journal. Kind of cool has a leather cover and a wrap around tie to hold it closed.
