DAY 18: A QUIET DAY
March 27, 2022 ~ Sunday
Fasting Update: Day 13 of 28. I talked with the rounding doc about my muscle pain and how healing works for this. In my case I am certain that this is from statin damage. Either that or it is an autoimmune issue brought on by the statins. He said this type of inflammation needs 28 days of fasting. The autophagy going on in my body is also working on cleaning up that damage as well. Thereby healing the muscles. It is amazing what the body can do when you give it rest and let it do it’s job. He said I should feel better after this fast but the healing may not be complete and that another round of fasting could be needed. We shall see about that. If I see marked improvement in my life concerning my muscles I “might” think about it. It is gardening season and I can think of no better way of testing my muscles. The water still tastes a tad sweet. That is my palate and not their water. I also can’t tolerate cold water or room temp water. So I heat a bit up and mix it in with the room temp so that it is a bit warmer. I drink upwards of 96 ounces of water a day or 12-8 ounces glasses.
Daily fasting numbers: Weight-188.3 Weight lost during fast-17.7 Weight loss since adopting diet-46.7 BP-120/75 Heart rate-69 Oxygen level-96 Temperature-97.8 Glucose-80 Sleep- 5h 18m one minute pulse rate-steady 75 NEW STAT Muscle pain level-5 (scale 1-10) NEW STAT Energy level-2 (scale 1-5).
My Comments: I added muscle pain and energy to the fasting numbers for comparison. For example, Friday morning my muscle pain was an 11 on a scale of 1-10. Saturday it was a 2 and today it was a 5. I am pretty good and putting my pain on a scale for 1-10 for doctors. They ask me everyday what my energy level is. I am still trying to get a handle on how to quantify that with a number. So apparently, I will have up and down days, for want of a better label, this “autoimmune” inflammation.
There is really no way to describe this fasting process and how you feel during it. I was talking with another fasting patient and she says she can’t put it into words either. So the info above is the best I can do with it.
It is Sunday and nothing much happens at the Center. Here days run into each other and you forget what day of the week it is. I was in bed until noon because of the muscle pain. The nurse who takes the vitals and the rounding doctor all will come right to the bed to check on me. One day this past week, I was napping and the doctor saw that, wiggled my toes, made sure I was breathing and came back an hour later. Very nice thing to do for people who do not sleep much any more!
Lecture: There was no lecture except for a Zoom call about Reflexology which I watched. I do not know how scientific it really is but the treatment part of it leaves you feet all nice and warm. Which is really nice for a person who lives with cold numb toes. I wonder if autophagy will fix that too??
What rest looks like at True North. My sanitorium.
