DAY 25: THE SUITE

April 3, 2022 ~ Sunday

Fasting Update: Day 20 of 28. Broth day 5. I did not sleep well last night. Again, fasting patients do not sleep well. This meant that today was a stay in bed all day type of day. I did go outside and sit in the fresh air for an hour. It was very nice. My muscles in my arms hurt again today. This is either same old or same old OR my potassium is still low. Today, I learn that just drinking the broth is enough. I must have missed that instruction! I do not need to drink 6-8 glasses of fluid. So, I will stop doing that and give the potassium more help in going up in the blood. The afternoon rounding doctor said everything was looking good. My heart rate good and strong.

Daily fasting numbers: Weight-188.7 Weight lost during fast-17.3 Weight loss since adopting diet-46.3 BP-110/71 Heart rate-68 Oxygen level-96 Temperature-98.2 Glucose-88 Sleep-4.5 hrs. One minute pulse rate-68, strong and steady Muscle pain level-5 (scale 1-10) Energy level-4 (scale 1-10).

My Comments: Today, I watched more of Chef Bravo’s cooking course. He makes it look so easy. He uses the same ingredients I have used before except with no salt, oil, or sugar. For example, in his lintel stews, he uses whole food to replace the salt (swiss chard) and sweet (plantain). I have to try these as they look good and with some rice for the starch would be quite filling. I like lintels. Can’t wait to get home and try some of these recipes out! I fly home on April 27th, shop on the 28th, and do some cooking on the 29th. I will be sent home with a couple of days worth of TrueNorth food. Then a graduation from college party for Gavin up in Newport on the 30th where everyone will get to see the new me!

Pictures of Suite 111:
The deluxe room (111-1) has its own bathroom, full closet with mirrored doors, queen size sleep number bed, TV with Comcast and Netflix, dresser, desk, a safe, and a full length window. The cost for this room is $249 a night.

The standard room (111-2) has a shared bathroom, half closet with mirrored doors, full size sleep number bed, TV with Comcast and Netflix, dresser, desk, a safe, and a full length window. The cost for this room is $209 a night. This is the room Dani and I stayed in for 4 nights.

The economy room (111-3) has a shared bathroom, a wardrobe, no mirror, a twin bed with memory foam, no TV, a very nice computer desk and a full length window that looks out on the courtyard. The safe in the room does not work. It has its own wall heater. The cost for this room is $169 a night. Of the three rooms this is the one I am in and like the most. It is my cave, cozy, and gives me the vantage point of watching the interactions that go on in the courtyard. I have also ‘decorated’ it with my shawls, a plant and a throw cover that I can snuggle up in. It is very pleasant. I will have to move from this room to another room in about a week as I had to be shifted around so I could stay the needed number of days. All in all I am happy with it and if I should EVER do this again. This is the room I would pick.

The common areas. There is a couch, lounge chair, TV and DVD player, a table and chairs. It is quite a large area. This building used to be an apartment building. There is a full kitchen in the 70’ style, and the shared bath. The kitchen is NEVER used as kitchen. It holds the water dispenser on the counter. There is one in the fridge and ice packs in the freezer. There is also an electric tea pot if you should want to drink hot water. And believe me some have, including me.

The courtyard. It has a fountain, a large raised flower bed with roses planted in it, These should bloom before I leave. Lots of lounge chairs and other types of chairs to sit in. Tables with umbrellas and lots of space to walk around the edges. It is a very nice area.
