DAY 23: BROTH DAY 3
April 1, 2022 ~ Friday
Fasting Update: Day 18 of 28. Wow, 10 days to go! The broth is working perfectly. I feel so much better and I am till in ketosis. And I have started to lose the 5 pounds I gained from the body retaining the water. But retaining the water was part of how to raise my electrolytes! So, I am ok with this. I had a blood draw today to test for the potassium level. These results will determine if I can go back to water fasting or not. Dr. Streutker will call early Saturday morning with the results and next steps.

My Comments:
Lecture: Chef Ramses Bravo, from time to time, does a talk instead of a cooking demo. So today was a lecture. He is very good at teaching. This was about ways in which we can be successful after we leave here. He used Jesus as the ideal. WWJD? He is not religious but now comes to see Jesus as an ideal that sets a standard. Like TrueNorth sets a standard for those of us who come here. Things are “easy” here. You do not do your laundry, or clean, or prep food, or cook, or do the dishes. You are on complete rest. This provides little stress on the body except that you pay money to drink water! This is quite the investment in health. When we go home, this “perfect” life will not go with us. So what would Jesus do when he goes home from TrueNorth? How would he deal with family and friends and stresses out in the real world? We will not be perfect at home but we should go right back to the ideal when we do slip up. Chef Bravo says that if he eats something he shouldn’t the very next meal or the very next day, he drinks green juices to get right back on track. He has been eating this way for 15 years and his health and energy levels are so much better than before.
Cooking Demo: Culinary Secrets To Change Your Life by Barbara Wellbeloved. Barbara is 82 years old and still cooks. She showed how she makes shredded salads. She uses Vitamin C powder in water to wash vegetables. And a bit of V-8 juice from time to time. That carrots and parsnips roasted with a bit of apple juice tastes pretty good. That marinara sauce goes well on shredded beets. And she gave a handout that listed what veggies to put in a salad. You either plate a salad or make up bags of salad ingredients for the week, one for each day and make a salad whenever you want one.
