DAY 20: NOT SO MISERABLE

March 29, 2022 ~ Tuesday

Fasting Update: Day 15 of 28. I will not lie. This can be miserable but not in the way you might think. It is like doing something you do not want to do but must be done. Only this “something” must be done for an extended period of time. It is hard to explain. For example, later, today I thought, hmmm, I do not feel so bad. My muscles have calmed down. Is the healing crisis coming to an end?

When I think of California, I think warm and sunshine. The sun does shine everyday but it is not always as warm out. Warmer than Vermont for sure. It hangs around 50-65 degrees. But since I am fasting I am cold all the time. I have a heater in my room that I run at least at night and some during the day. My body temp is normal but I am cold. I wear sweaters, even in bed. A function of the fasting.

I still have to drink tepid water, as room temp water upsets my stomach a little. I do have other choices. Like carbonated water and ice chips. Won’t know if the cold ice chips will bother or not but I will not be swallowing half a glass of them in 5 gulps!

Daily fasting numbers: Weight-186.5 Weight lost during fast-19.5 Weight loss since adopting diet-48.5 BP-115/77 Heart rate-75 Oxygen level-97 Temperature-98.6 Glucose-105 Sleep-5.75 hrs. One minute pulse rate-78 and steady Muscle pain level-6 (scale 1-10) Energy level-4 (scale 1-10).

My Comments: I can’t wait for the refeed and I really can’t wait for the trip home. I have all my reservations and tickets in place. The Center’s driver to the hotel. The hotel shuttle to the airport. Two planes with Wayne waiting for me at the end of it. The last two things I need in place is a hair appointment, yes I will color my hair before coming home! And then getting cash for the trip home. That last one will be the hardest of all to do. I meant to do so before leaving home but forgot. I will figure it out.

Cooking Demo: Today, there was a cooking demo by Cathy Fisher who wrote the cookbook called Straight Up Food. I have this book at home. It is nice to watch someone cook this way. She also provides recipes. She did a Tu-No Salad. It looked like a tuna salad but I have no way of knowing how it tasted. Before fasting back home I tried a fake tuna salad and I did not like it but with the fast resetting palate I may like it. So if you try this let me now YOU think it tastes! As I am not allowed to taste it yet.
